ARTIST AS...  2017

This series could be seen as a kind of addendum to ‘What we do After the Revolution’ - an answer to the question, ‘What is the role of the existential exile?’

In WWDATR I wanted to depict that peaceful moment after one has achieved what one set out to do when one decided to figure things out for themselves. ‘Artist As…’ is concerned with how artists see themselves and how artists are seen. The multi-faceted elements involved in accepting oneself fully as an ‘artist’ are contradictory, confusing and slippery. Yet each and every element is valid as a source of inspiration.  Art is a costume we wear; a game we play; a story we tell; fun to be had and it just loves to dress up and act serious as hell.
