The Outer Critic + Music from the Threshold
My wife promotes my work and my website wherever she goes. At an interview this week the man interviewing her said that he had looked up my website and even read my blog.
"Do you understand your husband's art?" he asked her.
"Not always," she said.
"Don't you think he is a better philosopher than a painter?" he asked her.
My wife was distracted from that moment on by how condescending and glib he had been about work very close to her heart.
"No,“ she replied.
Anyway, I have decided to give up painting forever.
Here instead are four musical additions to a large group project (Threshold Prague) I am currently working on with one California based artist, Chantelle Goldthwaite, one other Czech based artist George Whistler and one Warsaw based artist, Justyn Oboladze.
As an added blog bonus, and to pay homage to the gentleman who has changed my entire view of what I do, there will be no pictures in this blog. Unless you push play on the video below and then you will get a face full :)
Threshold Prague tells (and shows) the story of an alternative Prague. A world which could have been/could be with a few simple twists of fate. The music I have worked on here with George Whistler is representative of a key part of the music scene in the Threshold world.
Welcome to Černabilly Music.
George Whistler creates the music, I provide the words and the mellifluous voice.
Below you can click on this picture for a youtube link to one last song and listen to some older pomes read over another great musician, Daniel Olmos' hypnotic Drone.
I am committed to making this blog as snappy, fun, experimental and accessible as I can. If any of what I post, paint, paste or print resonates with you, please forward to friends and colleagues with wild abandon!
